Karen Abell
Owner, Dog Trainer, & Behavioral Consultant

Karen has been a professional dog trainer for 15 years and has worked with dogs in some aspect throughout her life. In more than a decade of professional work with dogs, she has attended workshops with leaders throughout the field of canine training and behavior, such as Dr. Ian Dunbar, Jean Donaldson, Karen Pryor, and Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz, as well as seminars and lectures at annual professional conferences like Clicker Expo and the APDT Conference. She has completed a seminar in Constructional Aggression Treatment (CAT) with its creators, Kellie Snider and Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz.

Karen is a full member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and the Pet Care Services Association. She is committed to excellence in all areas of service and personalized care, and has helped hundreds of dog owners enjoy better lives with their dogs.

Karen’s scientific approach to dog training springs from a lifelong interest in the behavior of living things—she holds a B.S. in Biology from Brescia University, Owensboro, KY- where she also studied psychology. Karen worked in neuroscience and clinical research before becoming a dog trainer.

Karen lives with four rescue dogs, three of which are aggression behavior modification rehabilitation cases.

Hailee Mink
Daycare & Boarding Staff

Hailee Mink joined New Beginnings in February. She is currently pursuing a B.S. in Nursing from Thomas More College. Hailee loves the structure of group classes, daycare and boarding at New Beginnings. She embraces the educational opportunities offered as an employee. "Roxy", Hailee's Pit Bull and Boxer mix is trained to retrieve toys by name and stay out of the kitchen to avoid any counter surfing.

Gabrielle Jimenez
Daycare & Boarding Staff

Gabrielle Jimenez joined us in February and is working toward a B.S. in Biology at Thomas More College. Gabby lives with "Bruiser" a Black Lab and Newfoundland Mix, is a Certified Therapy Dog and they volunteer at the Diocese Children's Home.

Breanne Wilson
Daycare & Boarding Staff

Breanne Wilson began working at New Beginnings in February after graduating with a B.S. in Equine Science & Management from the University of Kentucky. Breanne believes the constant education is the key to seeing improvement in the dog's behavior and the increased social skills dogs learn at New Beginnings. "Bruce" her Boston Terrier often accompanies her to Lake Cumberland to swim.

Danny Pitcock
Daycare & Boarding Manager

Danny Pitcock joined our team in July. He enjoys work believes our environment offers supportive co-workers and hands on management—everyone works as a team. Danny shares his home with his wife, three teenagers, a Basset Hound and a Puggle. Their family enjoys camping. Their Basset Hound enjoys his comfy couch.

Scott Sied
Daycare & Boarding Staff

Scott Sied began working with us this fall and is a Bachelor degree candidate from Thomas Edison State College. Scott shares his home with his brother, a black lab, a pug and a kitten. In his spare time he volunteers at the SPCA.
