I have attended two of the seminars at New Beginnings as part of my education with the rescue group I assist. One was on general dog behavior and the other on dog aggression. Although I have a good deal of experience with my own dogs and fosters from the shelter I still found the classes to be informative and helpful.  I thought they covered a wide range of topics and were useful for either the pet owner or someone in rescue or foster care. Karen takes the time to answer questions and explain topics thoroughly with open discussions and helpful visual material. I especially like the interaction between people attending the seminars with their own anecdotes and experiences. I think the seminars at New Beginnings help provide insight into dog behavior and correcting problems and are entertaining and thought provoking. They are informative for pet owners, anyone thinking of acquiring a new dog, or anyone just interested in a better understanding of dogs in general.

This past September I attended a seminar on “Reading Canine Body Language” at New Beginnings K-9 Training. As an employee at the Boone Co. Animal Shelter, I have attended many seminars on subjects such as this, but I found this one to be the most interesting and informative. The use of visual aids was very helpful in showing exactly the different body postures they were discussing. We had several of our shelter volunteers attend this seminar and they found it very helpful in learning how to read the different dogs at our shelter. The prices of these seminars are very reasonable and I highly recommend them to anyone interested in dogs, no matter what their level of expertise is.
